Stories and Essays: Queens Sikh Parade

Every fall the Sikh community in Richmond Hill, Queens celebrates the birthday of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder of the religion. A parade winds around the neighborhood and along the route free food is passed out to everyone involved. Temples, restaurants and individuals prepare food for days to pass out.
